The Culverhouse College of Commerce at The University of Alabama invites applications for an Associate or Full Professor position in Health Care Analytics in the Department of Management with an expected start date of August 16, 2018. Responsibilities include conducting and publishing academic research in high quality journals, generating external funding to support research, teaching Health Care Analytics and/or Management courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, and engaging in service at a level commensurate with the level of faculty appointment.

Required Qualifications: (1) A doctoral degree in health administration, public health, biostatistics, health science, any business discipline, or a closely related field; (2) capability to produce health care analytics and/or health care administration research published in high quality journals; (3) a track record of involvement with external funding to support research in healthcare issues; and, (4) ability to teach undergraduate or graduate courses that require expertise in health care data.

Preferred Qualifications: Applicants with a proven track record of leading independent and rigorous externally funded research in Health Care Analytics and/or Health Care Administration with an emphasis on big data are strongly preferred.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and achievements. Rank will also be determined by previous experience and accomplishments. Teaching load reduction may be offered to offset time and resources needed to devote to externally funded research.

The Health Care Analytics program, within the Department of Management, currently has 3 faculty members and offers a robust undergraduate specialization aimed at preparing students for entry-level clinical, financial, and operations analyst positions. Ideal candidates should be able to make immediate and substantial contributions to an emerging analytics program in both research and teaching.

Founded in 1831 and located in the historic city of Tuscaloosa, The University of Alabama is the main campus of the university system and the largest in the state with a total enrollment of over 37,000 students. The Culverhouse College of Commerce, founded in 1919, now includes around 9000 students and 150 faculty members. With a metropolitan population of about 120,000, the Tuscaloosa area offers excellent quality of life with many cultural and outdoor activities.
